Show Reviews
The Village Underground, NYC
November 9, 2007
"I went to see Julius C, who were awesome as usual. I know I’ve raved about them before, but I really can’t stress enough how awesome these guys are. They have so much energy when they perform and their music is so much fun. ..And it shows their versatility as a group - that they can perform different kinds of music and therefore aren’t boxed into one genre. Seriously people, if you have the chance to see these guys perform, take it. They have so much fun on stage, just playing around and getting into the music. They really love performing and it makes you love watching them." Em, guiltfreepleasures.com [

SXSW – Austin, TX
Red Gorilla Showcase – March 17, 2007
"JULIUS C were there on Saturday, right smack bang on St Patrick’s day on the hottest day of the week where beer consumption hit the high peak at the most important showcase in the world. At 9pm they go on stage and start their rock-funk blend of NY attitude with warm Texas style thrown in there. This was the only band that got an encore over the whole week-end. This alone should tell you how their show was. A full on set by a group with amazing technical players, great arrangements, sickly sweet melodies fronted by a charismatic singer that got every single person in the club involved. Is that enough? Don’t think so. This band got everybody so pumped that in the end (as said earlier) everyone in the club wanted more more more! An encore quickly followed and their choice was the classic “Ghostbusters”… yes, that one. A
'comedy' number that left everybody fulfilled and happy… more drinking and congratulating followed. A great success." [

Emergenza B.E.S.T. Tour – April 14, 2007
"Our special guests of the night, Julius C, took the stage next, and absolutely torched the stage with their unique blend of old-skool funk and rock, getting the crowd on their feet and dancing their asses off! The music was powerful and revitalized the crowd for the rest of the night." [

Emergenza Showcase – Feb 1, 2007
“Up next was the amazing Julius C. These boys were the
special guests from NYC and they showed NY attitude with a live show
that no band could touch. Last season’s 2nd placed national finalists
were “spot on” and absolutely magic. A fine display of funk, rock and
soul mixed with energy, technical skill and pure showmanship. Truly
brilliant.” [

Emergenza National Finals 2006 – July 8, 2006
"Up came Julius C. This 9 piece had a brass section and 2 wonderful backing singers that sounded like angels had descended on the stage on a Saturday night. The band was funky, soulful and very much had everybody grooving to the set. They took second place but I must say this now………The singer from this band was so good that he made everybody in the room get goose bumps. No Bull****."
